Libby Allen art contest winners announced

Overton County Arts Council (OCAC) recently held the inaugural Libby Allen High School Art Exhibit and Competition, which was hosted at Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce on April 21-26.


Winners receiving their awards Sunday, April 21 are, from left, Zoey Elizabeth Sessions, Alora Huddleston, Evelyn McConaha, Alia Colson, Trinity Hoffman, Audrey Stewart, Libby Allen, Isabella Guerrero, Eli Knappenberger, and Thomas Kingsland.


Best of Show went to Alia Colson.


Winners in Drawing/Pen and Ink/Colored Pencil/Oil Pastel were 1st – Anthony Horton, 2nd – Emily Lauderdale, 3rd – Eli Knappenberger, and Honorable Mention – Madison Linder.


Winners in Painting were 1st – Evelyn McConaha, 2nd – Thomas Kingsland, 3rd – Kendra Winningham, and Honorable Mention – Alora Huddleston.


Winners in Clay/3D were 1st – Isabella Guerrero, 2nd – Audrey Stewart, 3rd – Zoey Elizabeth Session, and Honorable Mention – Trinity Hoffman.


The Overton County Arts Council (OCAC) will hold monthly beginner and intermediate art classes starting Saturday, May 11. The deadline is May 4. The class is capped at 15 students. Cost is $20 for OCAC members and $35 for non-members. All art supplies are provided. The class will be held in the TCAT - Livingston Multipurpose Room, at 740 Hi Tech Drive in Livingston. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the class will run from 10 a.m.to 2:30 p.m., which includes a lunch break. Students should bring their own brown bag lunch. Online registration and payment is taken on the OCAC website at OvertonCountyArts.org.
