ABOUT US

Main Street Livingston is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to the design, promotion, organization, and economic vitality of downtown Livingston, Tennessee, through historic preservation, beautification, and cultural development within the downtown and historic commercial district of Livingston, Tennessee.

Formerly known as the Livingston Downtown Revitalization Committee, we became an accredited Tennessee Main Street Program in 2026 through the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and Main Street America making us 1 of 4 in the Upper Cumberland.

The Tennessee Main Street (TMS) Program serves as a statewide resource for communities seeking to revitalize and manage their traditional downtowns. In 2003, the Tennessee legislature approved a resolution to re-establish the Tennessee Main Street Program in order to assist these communities with their economic revitalization and development efforts. TMS is administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development’s Community and Rural Development Division.

For over 40 years, the Main Street movement has helped communities across the country breathe new life into their historic downtowns. Main Street America has helped to generate over $115.27 billion in local reinvestment, rehab 345,801 buildings, create 815,894 new jobs, and start 181,647 new businesses in over 2,000 communities.
