Overton County Arts Council is offering a new series of Monday Night Art Classes beginning in March and continuing through April.
Four basic drawing classes will be taught in March, followed by four basic painting classes in April with all classes being held Monday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at TCAT Livingston campus located at 740 High Tech Drive.
Chad Morgan, an accomplished film animator, graphic artist, and art educator, who has worked at DreamWorks Feature Animation, Disney, and The Art Institute will be the basic drawing instructor. Justin Blackmon, an award-winning artist and art educator, who is the immediate past president of Art Round Tennessee will be the basic painting instructor.
“We want to make it convenient and easy for everyone to learn how to draw and paint,” OCAC President Tim Richardson said. “Our instructors are very accomplished and experienced educators who are especially passionate about working with beginners. These classes will be fun and rewarding for everyone.”
Classes are open to high school age students and adults of all ages. Attendees must be at least 14-years old to attend. No previous art education experience is required.
Each class will be capped at 20 students. Students must register and pay in advance online at OvertonCountyArts.org. Registration must be done by midnight the Friday before each Monday night class so that the instructor will know how many to expect and can adequately prepare.
